Who cannot be hypnotised
Almost everybody can be hypnotised – the depth of hypnosis can vary, most
therapies can be successful even in light states of hypnosis and most therapies
can be covered not in hypnosis.
Exceptions are:
- Very young children (under 4)
- Alcoholics under the influence of alcohol
- Hard drug addicts
- People who suffer with Psychosis
- Pregnant women (except specialist hypno-birthing)
- People who have had a heart attack or stroke (except for relaxation
which is beneficial)
- OCD sufferers are best to consult with a Cognitive Behaviour specialist
- People who do not want to be hypnotised
Medical conditions are only treated with a letter from the GP.
People with a strong mind are more easily hypnotised, either by themselves
or somebody else – as long as they want to be.
A good state of hypnosis depends on the individual to bring their mental
energies to bear, and on their willingness to do so. |
